The Problem With Our Education System

“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” -Aristotle

It was never the schools job to educate children on values and morals, as those were things that were supposed to be taught at home. People used to go to church a lot more back in the day, read religious books together as family and spend weekends together. The family culture and dynamics have become abruptly different as societies patterns got disturbed massively since the rise of Television and then the internet.

Data has shown, the upbringing of kids is incredibly different for the average child or teenager now then it has ever been. The amount of teenagers in depression, being bullied or simply feeling unaccepted is off the roof leading to crazy statistics such as one in 3 teenage girls under 14 already contemplating suicide, which is double the amount from boys and up 60 percent from a decade ago.

Nothing changes if nothings changes. Striving to cancel out all television and internet away from kids is not logical, nor do I believe it should be done that way. Instead we must focus on what children actually do there and shift their pattern towards something similar and but better. Change happens gradually, it takes weeks and months for the built up of desire and momentum to change ones personal ways forever, let alone an entire generation.

This is a big reason why I am passionate about fixing the root cause of the problem as opposed to trying to fix the education system by building their school materials sightly “better”. Building families dynamics at a young age ensuring they endure for long time should be the conversation of today. It is not the schools fault, government, president or police officers. It is each of our fault for not taking enough responsibility on this issue, by not becoming examples ourselves of what society should look like and allowing children to be more influenced by other peers their age then adults.

“It takes a village to raise a child”

Building an environment around every child, of people who feel empowered to do great things and being morally good is what is needed more than ever. However, even in the midst of massive perceived differences, I believe we each believe in the same values and way of living. Our leadership is simply broken but it shouldn’t take presidents to set the example for us. Goodness is something we inherently have within us, our bodies and minds simply get in the way as we become conscious of what people would say or think of us for doing good or being “soft”. We can not let our minds dictate our ways, we must become driven by our souls.
